STEP 9: Applying Platform Patches for Oracle BI Applications 11.1.1.8.1

Apply Patches:

Note:
1. Shut down WebLogic Administration Server, Managed Server, and Node Manager.
2. Shut down BI processes using Oracle Process Manager and Notification Server (OPMN).
3. The following patches, should be downloaded. Extract the all .zip files into the same Patch Home directory. In my case: C:\Prasad\Software_Installers\Patches

In Biappsshiphome directory there are 2 folders.  “GENERIC” and “windows64”. In windows64 folder, these are the mandatory patches should be applied. Please verify these patches applied successfully or not after the patching process.
4. Update the parameter input file (apply_patches_import.txt).
The file will be in Oracle Middleware Home :
Example: C:\OBIEE11GMW\Oracle_BI1\biapps\tools\bin

Syntax in Linux:
$ perl <BI_Oracle_Home>/biapps/tools/bin/APPLY_PATCHES.pl <BI_Oracle_Home>/biapps/tools/bin/apply_patches_import.txt
Example in Windows:
  1. Open command prompt.
  2. Navigate to ORABLE_BI Home.
  3. Navigate to perl folder and bin directory.
  4. Example : CD C:\OBIEE11GMW\Oracle_BI1\perl\bin
Perl C:\OBIEE11GMW\Oracle_BI1\biapps\tools\bin\APPLY_PATCHES.pl C:\OBIEE11GMW\Oracle_BI1\biapps\tools\bin\apply_patches_import.txt

Updating ATGLite

  1. Navigate to Oracle BI home and Jdk folder.
Example: C:\OBIEE11GMW\Oracle_BI1\jdk\bin
  1. CD C:\OBIEE11GMW\Oracle_BI1\jdk\bin
  2. Then Run the following command.
Exmaple :
java -jar C:\OBIEE11GMW\Oracle_BI1\biapps\tools\lib\biappsrepositoryutil.jar upgradeATG bi.oracle.home=C:\OBIEE11GMW\Oracle_BI1 work.dir=C:\Prasad\BIAPPSTEMP biacomp.user=PRASAD_BIACOMP biacomp.password=Admin123 db.conn.sid.url=RJ.us.com:1521:ORCLDB atg.db.seed.url=RJ.us.com:1521:ORCLDB db.sys.user=sys db.sys.password=Admin123
Syntax :
java -jar biappsrepositoryutil.jar upgradeATG bi.oracle.home=scratch/MiddleWareHome/Oracle_BI1/work.dir=scratch/workfolder biacomp.user=BIAPPS_BIACOMP biacomp.password=password db.conn.sid.url=<host>:<database port>:<SID> atg.db.seed.url=<host>:<database port>/<ServiceName> db.sys.user=sysuser db.sys.password=password
db.sys.user  : Database system user name. Example: sys

Updating FSM

This step updates the FSM data in the BIACOMP schema.
  1. Navigate to Oracle BI home and Jdk folder.
Example: C:\OBIEE11GMW\Oracle_BI1\jdk\bin
  1. CD C:\OBIEE11GMW\Oracle_BI1\jdk\bin
  2. Then Run the following command.
Example:
java -jar C:\OBIEE11GMW\Oracle_BI1\biapps\tools\lib\biappsrepositoryutil.jar upgradeFSM bi.oracle.home=C:\OBIEE11GMW\Oracle_BI1 work.dir=C:\Prasad\BIAPPSTEMP biacomp.user=PRASAD_BIACOMP biacomp.password=Admin123 db.conn.sid.url=RJ.us.com:1521:ORCLDB fsm.db.seed.url=RJ.us.com:1521:ORCLDB db.sys.user=sys db.sys.password=Admin123
Syntax:
java -jar biappsrepositoryutil.jar upgradeFSM bi.oracle.home=scratch/MiddleWareHome/Oracle_BI1/work.dir=scratch/workfolder biacomp.user=BIAPPS_BIACOMP biacomp.password=password db.conn.sid.url=<host>:<database port>:<SID> fsm.db.seed.url=<host>:<database port>/<ServiceName> db.sys.user=sysuser db.sys.password=password
db.sys.user  : Database system user name. Example : sys
db.sys.user  : Database system user name.
biacomp.user : BIACOMP schema owner.  (Example : DEV_BIACOMP or PRASAD_BIACOMP)
biacomp.password BIACOMP schema owner's password.
