Installing Oracle BI Applications Using the Business Analytics Applications Suite Installer.

Pre-requisites :

• 35 GB free disk space is required to run the Business Analytics Applications Suite installer. This disk space will be released after the installer finishes.
• The installer is a generic installer and requires JDK or JRockit to be installed.

Launch the Business Analytics Applications Suite installer by entering the following:

In Windows

setup.exe -jreLoc <Drive:\...\jdk or jrockit location>

For example:

setup.exe -jreLoc C:\jdk

In Unix / Linux

./runInstaller -jreLoc <jdk or jrockit location>

Caution:

The Oracle Home Directory must be the same directory under which OBIEE is installed –

The installer screen default to the next number up (Oracle_BI2) sometimes in previous installations  of BI Apps, so double check it and change it back to the original OBIEE directory if necessary.  If you don’t change this the installer just hangs, no messages, no files being copied, it just sits there indefinitely!

Point it to OBIEE Oracle Home directory. In my case it’s  as below :
